Crown Prince and Crown Princess of Japan celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations with Vietnam

The Crown Prince and Crown Princess of Japan are in Vietnam to celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations.

An official ceremony took place in Hanoi to mark the anniversary. The Crown Prince spoke about the close friendship between Japan and Vietnam that had been forged in these 50 years.

“I hope our visit will help further deepen mutual understanding and friendship between the people of the two countries,” he said.

Earlier that day, the Crown Prince and Crown Princess attended a welcome ceremony with Vietnamese Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan at the presidential palace. They enjoyed lunch together at the state guest house.

During the meeting, the Crown Prince told the Vietnamese Vice President that he was “very pleased to be visiting Vietnam on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic relations.”
