The Princess of Wales returned to the Royal Marsden Hospital — where she had received her own treatment — to see how funds raised from the recent Three Peaks Challenge are helping to create a new holistic site for cancer patients.
The Princess of Wales made a surprise appearance at London’s Royal Marsden on Friday. The Princess visited the same hospital where she had received cancer treatment back in 2024. Catherine met with staff and patients who are benefiting from donations following her Three Peaks Challenge, which the Princess undertook earlier this year.

The funds raised for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity support people with cancer to benefit from holistic care. The goal is to create a blueprint for change, so supportive care becomes a standard part of cancer treatment nationally.

Holistic care supports the whole person—integrating physical, emotional, spiritual, and social well-being alongside clinical care. This can include physical activity, nutrition, creativity, and a connection to the community, which are essential in supporting people through their treatment and recovery.
Donations to The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity support the development of a new Centre for Holistic Wellbeing and Recovery at The Royal Marsden, which will reshape the future of cancer care and support more people living through & beyond a cancer diagnosis. Catherine had the opportunity to see where the future centre will be built.
The Princess also visited with cancer patients to see how they benefit from holistic care.
I had incredible care here and support from a huge team and I’m really really grateful on a personal level. But also the holistic care, the treatments and therapeutic support on the outside is so important. It makes a big difference.
The Prince and Princess of Wales have been Joint Patrons of The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust since 2025.
