Princess Christina wore the Six Button Tiara. The rosettes had belonged to Louisa Ulrika of Prussia, Queen of Sweden, and they had also been part of King Carl XIV Johan’s coronation crown. They were removed from the crown in 1909 and made into a tiara.

Queen Sonja of Norway

Queen Sonja wore the tiara of the Norwegian Emerald Parure. The provenance of the emerald tiara is disputed. It ended up with Augusta of Bavaria, Duchess of Leuchtenberg and her daughter, Amelie, inherited it. When Amelie died, she had no surviving children, so the tiara was left to her sister, Josephine of Leuchtenberg, Queen of Sweden.

Queen Mary of Denmark

Queen Mary wore a new tiara for the occasion, and it has a link to Sweden. She had a diamond bracelet placed on a frame. This bracelet was given to Louise of the Netherlands, future Queen of Sweden, by her soon-to-be parents-in-law, King Oscar I of Sweden and Josephine of Leuchtenberg. Louise’s only surviving child, also named Louise, received the bracelet, and she became Queen of Denmark. This Louise transferred the bracelet into the Danish Royal Property Trust.

The tiara made its way to the princely family of Liechtenstein through her daughter’s marriage to Prince Alois of Liechtenstein. Sophie’s daughter, Princess Marie Caroline, wore it for her wedding to Leopoldo Maduro Vollmer in August 2025.

Margareta, Custodian of the Crown of Romania

Margareta wore the Romanian Greek Key Tiara, which was originally a kiokoshnik from the collection of Princess Victoria Melita of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Grand Duchess of Russia. Victoria sold it to her sister, Marie, Queen of Romania. Marie gave it to her daughter-in-law, Helen of Greece and Denmark, Queen Mother of Romania. It has remained in the family ever since.
