King Charles congratulates Paralympians

King Charles has congratulated Paralympians in Great Britain and across the Commonwealth on their successes at the Paralympic Games in Italy.

In a statement released on social media, the King praised the athletes’ “powerful testimony to your extraordinary determination and commitment.”

His Majesty’s full statement reads:

“As the Winter Paralympic Games come to a conclusion in Italy, my wife and I send our most heartfelt congratulations to all the medal-winners from ParalympicsGB, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

“Your collective achievements bear a powerful testimony to your extraordinary determination and commitment, and to the tireless dedication of your support teams.

“We rejoice in your successes while saluting and celebrating all those from across the Commonwealth who have participated, often in the face of great personal adversity, as we thank once more the Italian people for the warmth of their hospitality over these wonderful past weeks of Winter sport.”

The 2026 Winter Paralympic Games took place in Milan and Cortina, Italy, from 6 to 15 March 2026.

Great Britain and New Zealand took home a silver medal each, while Australia won a silver and a bronze. The most successful member of the Commonwealth was Canada, winning 15 medals (3 gold, 4 silver, and 8 bronze).
