Queen Rania meets Turkish First Lady

Queen Rania of Jordan met Turkish First Lady Emine Erdogan in Istanbul, while King Abdullah undertook a working visit to Turkey.

The Queen met with the First Lady on Saturday, 7 February, while accompanying the King on a working visit.

Queen Rania was welcomed by the First Lady to Dolmabahçe Palace before they undertook a tour of a textile pieces exhibition that included a range of Turkish embroidery.

The said exhibit is organised by the Maturation Institutes – public education institutions created to preserve and advance Turkish cultural heritage. It was founded in 1945.

While Her Majesty and First Lady Erdogan were at the palace, King Abdullah and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held talks on ways the two countries could continue collaboration in various sectors.

Crown Prince Hussein acted as Regent while his parents were in Turkey.
