Princess Lalla Asmaa of Morocco has welcomed Kenya’s First Lady, Mrs Rachel Ruto.
The Princess was on hand to welcome Mrs Rachel Ruto on behalf of Morocco at Rabat-Salé Airport. Kenya’s First Lady is in Morocco on a working visit.
The Princess and the First Lady were then greeted by Mohamed Yacoubi, Wali of the Rabat-Sale-Kénitra region and governor of Rabat Prefecture; Rachid El Abdi, president of the Rabat-Sale-Kénitra Regional Council; and Omar Touimi, governor of Salé Prefecture. Omar Sentissi, president of the Salé Municipal Council, also attended the welcome reception, alongside Mohamed Methqal, ambassador and director general of the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation (AMCI), and Karim Essakalli, delegated president of the Lalla Asmaa Foundation.
Kenya’s Ambassador to Morocco Jessica Gakinya, members of the Kenyan Embassy, and officials from Rachel Ruto’s delegation were also present.
The First Lady received milk and dates, which is a Moroccan custom of hospitality.
After stopping at the Royal Lounge of Rabat-Salé Airport, Mrs Rachel Ruto and the Princess left for the First Lady’s residence.
