The Royal Court of Norway has released several new images as Princess Ingrid Alexandra begins her studies at the University of Oslo.

The Princess was welcomed to the university on 10 August, where she will study as an exchange student from the University of Sydney.

Princess Ingrid Alexandra will study at the Faculty of Social Sciences. The Dean of the department welcomed her to the school alongside the Chair of the Student Parliament, Anna Bergum Furset, outside the Student Parliament building, Villa Eika.

Ingrid Alexandra enrolled at the Australian university last year, but returned to Norway when her mother, Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s health deteriorated. The younger royal wanted to be closer to her mother while she battled her illness. The Crown Princess later underwent a successful lung transplant.

Rector Ragnhild Hennum said of the Princess’s choice to study in Oslo, “We are pleased that the princess has chosen to study at Norway’s best university, and wish her a great start to her studies along with all the other new students. I hope she spends time on her studies, and that she participates in social activities, because that contributes to a great time studying.”

The Princess’s studies will include topics in comparative politics and conflict resolution.

Princess Ingrid Alexandra’s primary focus will remain on her studies, but she will attend royal events when time allows.
