When Sofia Hellqvist married Prince Carl Philip of Sweden on 13 June 2015, she did so in a bespoke wedding gown created by Ida Sjöstedt.
Sofia wore a dress in three shades of white by the Swedish designer Ida Sjöstedt, featuring a lace bodice and V-neck front.
The gown is made of full-silk crêpe and lined with Italian silk organza; it also features lengthwise appliquéd couture lace made by José María Ruiz that extends onto the train. The lace was hand-stitched at Ida Sjöstedt’s Stockholm studio.

Her sheer cotton lace veil was hand-embroidered and contained thin bridal tulle. It was held in place by a new diamond and emerald tiara gifted to her by King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia.
In her hair was the traditional sprig of myrtle worn by Swedish royal brides since 1935. It also featured in her bouquet.

Sofia’s bouquet contained “two varieties of Austin roses, as well as Ambrosia, Grenada, Morten Korch, Stockholm and Belamy roses” alongside the spring of myrtle, according to the Swedish Royal Palaces.
Princess Sofia changed into a one-shoulder dress, made of silk habotai and lace, by the same designer for her reception at Stockholm Palace.
