Spanish royals preside over Princess of Asturias awards

​King Felipe and Queen Letizia, accompanied by their daughters, the Princess of Asturias and the Infanta Sofía, presided over the Princess of Asturias awards. Queen Sofía was also present for the event.

The lucky winners were Meryl Streep, who received the Princess of Asturias Award for the Arts; Nuccio Ordine, who received the Princess of Asturias Award for Communication and Humanities; Hélène Carrère d’Encausse, who received the Princess of Asturias Prize for Social Sciences; Eliud Kipchoge, who received the Princess of Asturias Sports Award; Haruki Murakami, who received the Princess of Asturias Award for Literature; Medicines for Neglected Diseases Initiative, which received the Princess of Asturias Award for International Cooperation; Jeffrey Gordon, E. Peter Greenberg and Bonnie L. Bassler, who received the Princess of Asturias Award for Scientific and Technical Research; and Mary’s Meals, which received the Princess of Asturias Award for Concord.

The Princess of Asturias presented the awards alongside her father.
