The Royal Palace in Amsterdam has been defaced by Pro-Palestine activists.
On the side of Dam Square, the palace was defaced with red paint. The word “intifada” was added in yellow as well. This stands for the Palestinian uprising against the Israeli occupation. A cleaning crew managed to remove the paint the same day. Palestine Action Amsterdam has claimed the defacement, which, according to their social media, was aimed at the Dutch government.
The National Real Estate Agency, which managed the palace, has said it will report the defacement to the police.
The Royal Palace in Amsterdam is at the disposal of the Dutch monarch and is often used during official and state visits. If it is not in use by the King, some of it is open to the public.
