Queen Máxima of the Netherlands visited Girls’ Day at Container Service Groenenboom.

The day is organised to allow girls to visit technical and IT companies to learn more about what it would be like to work in those sectors.

Forty students from pre-vocational secondary education from the Curio effent school in Oosterhout followed the parcours throughout the factory and learned about spraying, preparing and finishing containers. Girls’Máxima joined and spoke with the participating girls.

Girls’ Day is organised annually by VHTO, an organisation which tries to enhance the participation of girls and women in these sectors. Over 200 companies across the Netherlands open their doors during Girls’ Day.
