Queen Máxima holds speech at finance convention

Queen Máxima of the Netherlands held a speech at the “Affordable Life” convention hosted by the National Institute of Budget Education (NIBUD).

She spoke in her role as honorary president of the SchuldenlabNL (Debt Lab NL) and the Wiser with Money platform and as a special advocate of the UN Secretary-General for inclusive finance for development.

Among other things, she said, “We all know from our own experience how uncertain times are. Uncertainty has become the new normal. In just a few years, we experienced the coronavirus pandemic, the outbreak of war in Ukraine, a wave of inflation and an energy crisis. All these shocks and developments have a major impact on the financial situation of households.”
