Queen Letizia of Spain has opened the Madrid Book Fair.
The main theme of the book fair is humour. The fair is held in El Retiro Park from May 29 to June 14.
Upon arrival, Queen Letizia was greeted by the Minister of Culture, Ernest Urtasun, and the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports of the Principality of Andorra, Mónica Bonnel, as well as other representatives.

The Queen toured the fair, starting with a visit to the Ministry of Culture’s stand. She also visited the stand of the Madrid City Council, the Community of Madrid, and the Cervantes y Compañía Bookstore. During her tour, she met with Miguel Pang, the illustrator and creator of the poster for this edition of the fair.
In the Children’s Pavilion, Queen Letizia attended a bookplate workshop alongside sixth-grade students from the Nuestra Señora de la Almudena Primary and Infant School in the Retiro district.
