Albert II, Prince of Monaco, has handed out the Climate Action Awards as part of the International Olympic Committee.
The Climate Action Awards recognise “efforts to address climate change and make sport more sustainable.”
The winners of the Climate Action Awards 2025 are Olympic hockey player Hugo Inglis from New Zealand, Olympic rugby sevens player Kevin Wekesa from Kenya, the National Olympic Committee of the Netherlands (NOC*NSF) and the International Biathlon Union (IBU).
Prince Albert, as chair of the International Olympic Committee (IOC)’s Sustainability and Legacy Commission, also held a speech at the end of the ceremony.

He said, “Thank you to all participants of this year’s awards. Your efforts truly show the impact of the Olympic community when it leans in together with purpose. Thank you for your commitment and for helping to make sport more sustainable. I hope this inspires other athletes, international federations and national Olympic committees to take similar meaningful actions in the near future.”
