Prince Sverre Magnus and Princess Ingrid Alexandra were on hand to welcome the guests to the Royal Chapel. Prince Sverre Magnus said, “We hope the music and words we will hear here tonight will be a reminder to all of us to take good care of each other. We would like to extend a special welcome to our guests from the emergency services. Thank you for the important work you do.”
The siblings visited the Sentrum fire station earlier in the day and learned about their daily work and the important efforts the fire and rescue service makes.
Music was provided by the Norwegian Girls’ Choir, Gabrielle, Sebastian Zalo and Gus Polden, and Emil Karlsen and Sabine Naimak. The gathering was led by the Archdeacon of Oslo, Pål Kristian Balstad.

Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit hosted the gathering. Crown Princess Mette-Marit said, “Tonight we lit candles – for everyone who is looking forward to it, and everyone who finds Christmas a bit of a difficult time. And for all of you whose job it is to help in the event of accidents, illness and crises. You are on guard so that all of us feel safe.”
