New photos released for Grand Duchess Maria Teresa’s birthday

Three new photos have been released to mark the 69th birthday of Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg.

The images feature two of the Grand Duchess and her husband, Grand Duke Henri. One photograph is of Maria Teresa by herself.

All images were taken by Sophie Margue.

Grand Duchess Maria Teresa was born as María Teresa Mestre y Batista on 22 March 1956 in Havana, Cuba. She married Grand Duke Henri in 1981, and he ascended to the throne upon the abdication of his father, Grand Duke Jean, in 2000.

Grand Duke Henri will abdicate in favour of his and the Grand Duchess’s eldest child, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume, in October 2025.
