King Constantine II, the last king of Greece, has died at the age of 82.

He was king of Greece from 1964 to 1973, after which Greece became a republic. He was initially exiled from Greece but later spent much time there. He died in Athens, where he had been hospitalised last week. He had suffered a stroke.

He was married to Princess Anne Marie of Denmark, sister of Queen Margrethe II.
