The King of the Belgians went to visit the first Belgian medalists of the Olympic Games 2024.
King Philippe and Queen Mathilde were there to cheer on their countrymen during the men’s road time trial in cycling and saw Remco Evenepoel and Wout van Aert win gold and bronze, respectively.
A post on their social media page read, “A very Belgian time but two medals at stake!
@EvenepoelRemco and @WoutvanAert win gold and bronze in the time trial! @LotteKopecky gave everything and finished in a good 6th place, despite an unfortunate fall. WELL DONE ! 🤩👏”
