French state visit to Sweden postponed

The state visit from France to Sweden has been postponed.

In a telephone call between King Carl XVI Gustaf and President Emmanuel Macron, they jointly decided to postpone the state visit.

King Carl XVI Gustaf told the President that he looks forward to welcoming him and Mrs Macron at a later date.

The visit had been due to take place between 23 and 25 October.
