King Harald of Norway’s state funeral will take place at Oslo Cathedral on Wednesday, 9 September, at 1:00 p.m, and royals from several royal houses have confirmed their attendance.
Belgium: King Philippe and Queen Mathilde
Denmark: King Frederik, Queen Mary, Crown Prince Christian, Queen Margrethe and Princess Benedikte
Japan: Crown Prince Fumihito and Crown Princess Kiko
Liechtenstein: Alois, Hereditary Prince of Liechtenstein and Sophie, Hereditary Princess of Liechtenstein
Luxembourg: Grand Duke Guillaume, Grand Duchess Stéphanie and Grand Duke Henri
Monaco: Prince Albert
The Netherlands: King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima, Princess Amalia, and Princess Beatrix
Spain: King Felipe, Queen Letizia and Queen Sofia
Sweden: King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip, Princess Sofia, Princess Madeleine, Mr Christopher O’Neill, Princess Christina and Tord Magnuson
United Kingdom: The Prince of Wales and the Princess Royal
King Harald, who died last Friday at Oslo’s National Hospital, will be laid to rest on Wednesday, 9 September. The funeral ceremony will follow the funeral liturgy of the Church of Norway.
The funeral procession will be led by the President of the Church of Norway, Olav Fykse Tveit. The Bishop of Oslo, Sunniva Gylver, Cathedral Cantor Marcus André Berg, the Oslo Cathedral Choir, amongst others, will also participate.
