Sarah, Duchess of York has paid tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II on what would have been the late monarch’s 98th birthday.

Sarah posted a photo of Queen Elizabeth on her social media accounts from the 2022 Trooping the Colour on 2 June 2022 – the last Trooping Her Late Majesty attended.

In her message, the ex-wife of Prince Andrew incorrectly stated that Queen Elizabeth would be 97; however, she praised her for being a “steadfast leader and dear friend.”

Her message in full said: “Today we are remembering Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on what would have been her 97th birthday. Thank you for all that you have taught us, for being a steadfast leader and dear friend. You are sorely missed.”

Queen Elizabeth died at Balmoral Castle in Scotland on 8 September 2022. She was the longest-reigning monarch in British history.
