Queen Camilla’s love of literature is well-known, and like many grandmothers, she enjoys reading to her grandchildren.
Her book series of choice is not too much of a shock. The Queen revealed in her The Queen’s Reading Room Podcast that she loved to read the Harry Potter series to her five grandchildren.
“I think the one I enjoyed reading more than anything else was Harry Potter,” she said in a clip posted on Instagram.
She confessed that doing the character’s voices was not her strong suit, but that King Charles is more talented.
The Queen said: “I can’t mimic voices for love or money, I’m completely hopeless at it. I was a really bad actor at school, and I’ve never been able to master the art of mimicry. But my husband, he does it brilliantly. He can do all the voices.”
The Queen’s Reading Room can be found here and on Instagram. The literature charity began under the name The Duchess of Cornwall’s Reading Room during the COVID-19 pandemic, but once her husband ascended the throne, the name was changed to reflect her new title.
