Princess of Wales to miss Trooping the Colour

The Princess of Wales will miss Trooping the Colour.

She is currently still undergoing preventative chemotherapy and will continue to recuperate at home.

King Charles will attend the ceremony, but he is expected to inspect the soldiers from a carriage rather than horseback.

Trooping the Colour will be held on 15 June and will see most of the royal family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. It is held to mark the Sovereign’s official birthday.

The Princess of Wales will also not undertake the traditional Colonel’s Review, which is the rehearsal a week earlier; this will be taken up by Lt Gen James Bucknall.
