Prince William has spoken about his father, King Charles’s cancer diagnosis and the abdominal surgery of his wife, the Princess of Wales.

During a fundraising dinner for London’s Air Ambulance Charity, the Prince of Wales told the audience, “We really appreciate everyone’s kind messages. Thank you.

He also added: “I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you also for the kind of messages of support for Catherine and my father, especially in recent days. It means a great deal to us all.”

William then joked about the past few weeks and attending a gala for the Air Ambulance Charity: “The past few weeks have a rather medical focus, so I thought I’d come to an air ambulance function to get away from it all.”

Presenter for the evening, Tara Bryer told the heir to the throne that everyone is wishing the King well after his diagnosis.

Hollywood star Tom Cruise also attended the event and the pair were photographed together.

The Prince of Wales will be undertaking limited royal duties as his wife recovers from her surgery to ensure their children are being taken care of. The King has given his blessing for his son to focus on his family.
