U.S. President Donald Trump commented on the arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor yesterday.

On Thursday evening, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was released from police custody under investigation following the ex-prince’s arrest for misconduct in public office. The disgraced former Duke was driven the some 36 miles/57 kilometres back to Sandringham after being questioned by police at the Aylsham Police Investigation Centre (PIC).

Following the ex-prince’s arrest, U.S. President Donald Trump made remarks to journalists aboard Air Force One en route to Georgia,

“I think it’s a shame, I think it’s very sad, I think it’s so bad for the royal family, (..) it’s a very sad thing.”

The President then praised King Charles, calling him “fantastic” and inadvertently confirming the much-anticipated state visit to the United States, saying the King is “obviously coming to our country very soon.”
