King Charles has broken his silence on the riots that have gripped the UK in recent weeks.
The King has sent his “heartfelt thanks” to the police for their work during the riots that were in response to a stabbing at a children’s Taylor Swift-themed dance class.
His Majesty’s remarks were made during a telephone audience with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and law enforcement officials.
After the call, Buckingham Palace said: “The King shared how he had been greatly encouraged by the many examples of community spirit that had countered the aggression and criminality from a few with the compassion and resilience of the many. It remains His Majesty’s hope that shared values of mutual respect and understanding will continue to strengthen and unite the nation.”
King Charles has been kept informed of the situation in the UK and has personally contacted officials.
In response to the stabbing in England that killed three girls aged between 6 and 9, people took to the streets after rumours that the 17-year-old perpetrator was a Muslim immigrant or asylum seeker. These rumours were later proved to be false.
