The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have released a statement after the Princess of Wales revealed her shocking cancer diagnosis.

Harry and Meghan said: “We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace.”

The Princess of Wales revealed she has cancer in a video on 22 March, telling the public that she is undergoing preventative chemotherapy.

Catherine will not be undertaking any royal duties for some time and will only return to work once she has been cleared by her doctors.

The Princess of Wales had a successful abdominal surgery at the end of January. While at the time it was thought that her condition was non-cancerous, tests after her operation revealed cancer was present.

She is in the early stages of her preventative chemotherapy treatment.
