Queen Paola of Belgium’s Diamond Necklace Tiara is, as the name suggests, a necklace that can be converted into a tiara.
The small piece is of unknown origin, and she likely received it in the early years of her marriage as a gift. It consists of two rows of diamonds, one a chain from which a row of diamonds drop and a pendant.
The future Queen Paola wore it often during her years as a Princess. When she became Queen, she often paired it with larger tiaras and wore it more as a necklace.
After her husband’s abdication, she retained this necklace.
