King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia gave gifts to 500 low-income families in Trapaing Kreun village, Pram Bei Mom commune, Thpong district in Kampong Speu province. He was accompanied by his mother, Queen Norodom Monineath.

During his visit, he learned more about the people and their living conditions. Most of them are farmers who have suffered through the destruction of their crops by natural disasters. Some teachers and 450 students also received gifts, including study materials.

The King’s gifts included food, mosquito nets, blankets, clothes, shoes, and 20,000 Cambodian riels (4,88 US dollars).

The King said, “The Queen Mother and I have always been concerned about the well-being of the people throughout the country. Upon realising that the people suffer from shortages in their daily lives, the Queen Mother and I have brought gifts for you.”
