The King of Bhutan has been awarded an honorary doctorate.

The King received it from the Chiba Institute of Technology in Japan. They cited his leadership in guiding Bhutan’s democratic transition, advancing the philosophy of Gross National Happiness, and championing visionary national initiatives.

The citation added, “His Majesty’s leadership embodies what we seek to inspire in our students: ethical courage, systems thinking, and global responsibility.”
