Crown Princess Kiko of Japan has visited one of the largest tuberculosis sanatoriums in Japan.
She recently marked the 30th anniversary of becoming the president of the Japan Anti-Tuberculosis Association.
Crown Princess Kiko visited a local museum before heading to the hospital monument. She spent about two hours where the tuberculosis sanatorium once stood, and she said she learned a lot. She also visited large cherry trees planted by patients for horticultural therapy, which are still standing.
The Crown Princess took photographs with her phone and took notes during her visit.
