Queen Suthida presides over opening ceremony of Thai Women’s Day 2026

Queen Suthida of Thailand presided over the opening ceremony of Thai Women’s Day 2026.

The theme of Thai Women’s Day 2026 is “Thai Women Committed to Sustaining the Queen Mother’s Heritage Preservation Work.” The ceremony was held at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Centre in Nonthaburi Province. Thai Women’s Day is on 1 August, and the date was chosen in 2003 because it marked the start of activities for Queen Sirikit’s birthday on 12 August. Queen Sirikit gave special permission for the observance of Thai Women’s Day.

The Queen was welcomed by the Minister of Social Development and Human Security, Nikorn Soemklang. Queen Suthida presented pins of honour to outstanding Thai women and certificates to outstanding young Thai women.

While at the centre, Queen Suthida viewed exhibitions, a display of products from the four regions of the country and a bazaar of products from the Foundation for the Promotion of Supplementary Occupations and Related Techniques (SUPPORT).

During the opening speech, Queen Suthida said, “I have a firm intention to pay gratitude to the Queen Mother in carrying forward the royal aspirations, following His Majesty the King’s strong determination to treasure and preserve our heritage and build upon the legacy of the Queen Mother.”
