The Prince of Wales made his first official visit to Hastings.
Prince William took the funicular railway to reach the crowd of people waiting for him in Hastings.
At the Hastings Adventure Miniature Golf, Prince William got to test out his putting skills. The World Crazy Golf Championships 2026 took place there last month. Prince William played a few holes against Murray Thompson, one of the top-ranked crazy-golfers in the United Kingdom. Murray Thompson landed three consecutive hole-in-ones, and Prince William joked, “You make it look so easy.”

He also met local players David and Marian Harley.
The course is next to the seafront, and Prince William commented, “If this is on your doorstep you’ve got to use it.”
The Prince of Wales also spoke with local fishermen and asked one of them, “What’s your theory on why there’s no fish?” He was informed that the warmer seas and bigger boats were two of the reasons.
He received a book about the histories of fisherfolk from the area, an illustrated tea towel and a silver shell from the locals.
