Queen Sofía of Spain has presided over the flag oath ceremony at the Royal Guard Barracks.
The flag oath ceremony is a swearing-in ceremony. It involves kissing the flag, taking a vow of obedience and loyalty to the nation, even at the cost of your own life.

Queen Sofia was received by the head of the Military Household of His Majesty the King, Eduardo Diz, and the colonel of the Royal Guard, Luis Alfonso Choya. She received military honours and reviewed the troops before proceeding to the royal tribune.
As she watched on, some 360 civilians took the flag oath. The ceremony was concluded with a military parade and reception, where she was able to speak with some of them.
