The President and First Lady of the US hosted Dutch King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima.

The Dutch Royal Couple are in the United States this week on a working visit as the country gears up to celebrate its Semiquincentennial— its 250th anniversary since its founding. The visit will highlight the “strong bilateral relations and historical links” between the Kingdom and the United States, as well as underlining economic ties with Pennsylvania and Florida, per RVD. On Monday evening, the President and First Lady of the United States hosted a Dinner for the Royal Couple at the White House in connection with their visit.

The Presidential Couple walked onto South Lawn Drive around 7 pm as King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima arrived, flanked by their Diplomatic Security Service (DSS). The King and Queen were greeted by the President and First Lady, shaking hands, with His Majesty remarking to the Trumps, “Thank you for having us,” and referring to Their Majesties’ busy schedule.

The four then posed for photographs outside the White House. The Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten, who is accompanying the King and Queen, also joined the two couples for a photograph. “They’ve been very busy,” the President said, gesturing to the media.

The two couples proceeded through the Diplomatic Room doors. At the photographers’ request, the First Lady and Queen Máxima stopped momentarily for a joint photograph on their own. The White House noted that the President stood “just inside the doorway, smiling as they got their picture taken.” The King and Queen then sat down for dinner.

Earlier in the day, the King and Queen visited ‘Kingston Creative & Performing Arts High School’ as well as the NFL Eagles’ team training facility in Philadelphia, where attention was brought to Curaçao’s participation in the 2026 World Cup at the Eagles Stadium.
