The Dutch Videoland series Máxima will have a spinoff series named Mabel & Margarita.
As the second season of Máxima is about to start, actresses Elsie de Brauw and Claire Bender told ANP they will reprise their roles in the new series Mabel & Margarita. They portray then-Queen Beatrix and Princess Mabel respectively.
Claire Bender said, “I’m really looking forward to it. It also helps, of course, that I already knew a bit more about her because I’ve already played her. You zoom in on her more, so you also tell more of her history.”
Willem-Alexander and Máxima actors, Martijn Lakemeier and Delfina Chaves, will also reprise their roles. Steef de Bot and Abbey Hoes will portray Prince Constantijn and Princess Laurentien.
The series will show the life of Mabel Wisse Smit, later Princess Mabel, as the wife of Prince Friso, King Willem-Alexander’s younger brother, and Princess Margarita, the daughter of Princess Irene, who is a sister of Princess Beatrix, from about 1999 onward. It is being produced by Millstreet and Videoland.
