King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain remembered victims of terrorism at the annual “In Memoriam” Concert.
The King and Queen were joined by various government officials at the concert held at the National Music Auditorium.
The event began with the national anthem and a moment of silence.
Their Majesties, government officials and victims of terrorist acts listened to the RTVE Symphony Orchestra and Choir perform Benjamin Britten’s War Requiem, Op. 66.
After the concert, the King and Queen met representatives of the Symphony Orchestra, the RTVE Choir, and other performers. They also greeted members of the audience.
The 24th edition of the concert was hosted by the Victims of Terrorism Foundation, which, according to Casa Real works to, “promote and disseminate democratic values, the defense of human rights, plurality and the freedom of citizens and, at the same time, to be a useful vehicle for consultation for a better understanding of the situation of the group of victims of terrorism in Spain.”
