Sweden’s youngest royal, Princess Ines, turns one today.
A new photo is expected to be shared by her proud parents on Instagram to mark the special day.
Ines is the youngest child and only daughter of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia. She was born on 7 February 2025 in Stockholm’s Danderyd Hospital.
Her full name, Ines Marie Lilian Silvia, was announced by her grandfather, King Carl XVI Gustaf, at a Council of State on 10 February. Her duchy was revealed to be Västerbotten. The Princess does not hold the style of Royal Highness or belong to the Royal House.
This is in line with the King’s decision in 2019 that stripped all his grandchildren, except Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar, who are in the main line, from the styles and place in the Royal House. The decision will allow the children more freedom to choose their future paths, and they will not be expected to undertake official royal duties.

Princess Ines has three older brothers, Prince Alexander (b. 2016), Prince Gabriel (b. 2017) and Prince Julian (b. 2021).
The Princess was christened in the Royal Chapel of Stockholm Palace on her parents’ tenth wedding anniversary on 13 June 2025.
At her young age, she has already participated in several royal events, including the celebration of the King’s birthday in April 2025, opening the Royal Palace on National Day in June and receiving the Christmas trees at the Royal Palace in December.
She is eighth in line to the Swedish throne to succeed her grandfather.
