The Princess of Asturias has made her first visit to Navarre as heir to the Spanish throne.
Princess Leonor joined her parents, King Felipe and Queen Letizia, for the visit to the Foral Community.
Leonor, who also holds the title of Princess of Viana in Navarre, first travelled to the Palace of Navarre, where the government of Navarre sits. There, the King, Queen and Princess signed the guest book.
Afterwards, the family headed to Viana for a meeting with the Municipal Council at the Town Hall and later met the Municipal Council of Viana at the Plenary Hall.
The trip to the area also featured viewing the ruins of the Church of San Pedro and the exhibit commemorating the 600th anniversary of the title of Prince of Viana.
Their Majesties and Her Royal Highness were also able to visit the Monastery of San Salvador de Leyre, where the remains of the first Navarrese monarchs are buried. The Princess laid a wreath at the gates of the Royal Pantheon of the first Kings of Navarre.
They concluded their day by meeting the people and getting a tour of the outside of the monastery.
The visit will continue on 27 September.
