Norwegian professional footballer Erling Haaland has paid tribute to King Harald of Norway.

He posted on X: “Rest in peace, King Harald”

Erling Haaland met King Harald during a palace reception shortly after the 2026 World Cup. The King was joined by Prince Sverre Magnus, then Crown Prince Haakon, and then Princess Ingrid Alexandra. Over 90,000 fans had gathered outside to celebrate the players who had managed to get the team to the quarter-finals.
