Queen Rania launches Amman Design Week

Queen Rania of Jordan has launched the fourth edition of the Amman Design Week (ADW) under the theme “Accumulations.”

The ADW was founded in 2016 by Queen Rania, and this year’s edition will take place in venues and participating spaces across Ras El Ain, Jabal Al Lweibdeh, Jabal Amman, Iraq Al Amir and Aqaba. The event will run from 2 October through 17 October.

Queen Rania, accompanied by her daughter, Princess Iman, joined ADW co-directors, Sarah Hejazin and Bisher Tabaa, for a tour of the Hangar Exhibition. The installations include works from designers and artists from Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Egypt, India, and Armenia. The event brings together 220 designers, who will display their works across 59 spaces and 204 events.

According to the press release, “ADW provides as an immersive experience in local and regional design and culture, aiming to establish Amman as a regional hub for innovation and expression. In addition to its two-week event, it offers year-round learning programs in an effort to empower current and aspiring designers and craftspeople.”
