Saudi Prince dies after 20 years in a coma

A Saudi Prince died yesterday after being in a coma for 20 years.

Prince Alwaleed bin Khaled, known as the Sleeping Prince, died 20 years after a car accident left him with devastating injuries. He was 36 years old at the time of his death.

The Prince’s father, Prince Khaled bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, wrote on social media, “With hearts believing in Allah’s will and decree, and with deep sorrow and sadness, we mourn our beloved son: Prince Al-Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may Allah have mercy on him, who passed away today.”

The Prince had suffered a brain haemorrhage following the car accident in London. He was studying at a military college in London at the time of the accident. He was taken to King Abdulaziz Medical City hospital in Riyadh, where he remained in a coma for the last 20 years.
