Queen Rania of Jordan was in Al Salt to visit women’s empowerment and social development organisations and initiatives.

The Queen travelled to the Jordanian Family Advancement Association and met its president, Fatimah Al Nsour, and board members to learn about their activities,  like providing humanitarian assistance to families.

The organisation also helps to provide women with economic empowerment opportunities and awareness; it also helps with training initiatives in various areas.

Her Majesty also took a walk around Al Ain Plaza to see Beit Khairat Al Salt and meet its founder, Thaera Arabiyat, who explained the workshops on Jordanian handicrafts. The organisations help to preserve tradition and empower women, and the Queen spoke to some of the beneficiaries of Beit Khairat Al Salt to learn about the impact the organisation has had on them.

Before leaving, Queen Rania visited a local coffee shop, Aktham’s 1881, that is located in a renovated family home. She spoke to the co-founders, Aktham and Abdullah Arabiyat, about their visions for the future.

Queen Rania later shared photos and videos from her visit, remarking on Instagram, “From the heart of Al Salt! The warmth of its people and the beauty of its heritage radiate from every corner.”
