Princess Haya of Jordan has called out the leaders of Hamas and Israel to end the ongoing war that began in October 2023.

The Princess took to Instagram to call for an end to the war. She also called for more aid to enter Gaza and for Hamas to release the remaining hostages.

Sharing a photo of starving children, she said, “An appeal to the leaders of Israel and Hamas. If you have any conscience left:

“End the blockade of food and aid to Gaza.
Release the hostages.
Stop playing political games that kill innocent children, and the people trying to help them.”

She concluded her post with a quote by Nelson Mandela, “There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children.”

The current conflict between the terrorist organisation and Israel began on 7 October 2023 when Hamas invaded Israel, killing thousands and taking 251 people hostage.

After the attack by Hamas, Israel retaliated by attacking the Gaza Strip. Tragically, tens of thousands have died in Gaza as Israel fights to destroy the terrorist organisation ruling the area.

There have been temporary ceasefires and the release of some hostages. However, 50 hostages remain, 27 of whom the Israeli government believes are deceased. Recent ceasefire meetings have been, so far, unsuccessful.

The 2023 attack was the latest in a series of wars between Israel and the Palestinian territories since 1948.

Princess Haya is the younger sister of Jordan’s King Abdullah.
