Queen Letizia presides over opening of new school year

Queen Letizia of Spain presided over the opening of the 2025/2026 School Year in the Riojan town of Rincón de Soto.

The Queen was received at the Entresotos Early Childhood and Primary Education Centre by the President of the Autonomous Community of La Rioja, Gonzalo Capellán; the Minister of Education, Vocational Training, and Sports, Pilar Alegría; the President of the Parliament of the Autonomous Community of La Rioja, Marta Fernández Cornago; and the Mayor of Rincón de Soto, Javier Martínez.

She visited an early childhood education classroom, where she was introduced to the Bee-Bot activity, which is a small bee-shaped robot. She then headed to the library, where she joined a reading activity, and she was given three books written by former students. 

In the music room, she got to enjoy a performance from students with the song “Ama, ama y ensancha el alma” (Love, Love and Broaden the Soul).
