The details of the funeral of Princess Désirée of Sweden have been announced.
Her funeral will take place on Thursday, February 19, 2026. The service will take place in the Palace Church at the Royal Palace. This will be followed by a private reception in Princess Sibylla’s apartment, Princess Désirée’s childhood home.
She will be buried in Koberg at a later date.
Both the funeral service and the burial will be private.
On the day of the funeral, the flags at the Royal Palace, Drottningholm Palace, Haga Palace, the House of the Royal Administration, the Royal Stables and Villa Solbacken will be flown at half-mast.
As a member and commander of the Royal Order of the Seraphim, she will be honoured with a Seraphim ringing in Riddarholm Church on the day of her funeral. The church bell will ring from noon to 1 p.m.
