Princess Birgitta of Sweden has been laid to rest in the Royal Cemetery in Haga Park.

King Carl Gustaf’s older sister’s private funeral and burial occurred on 15 December.

The Royal Family and close friends attended the private funeral and internment.

Media was not allowed at the funeral, but they were allowed to capture images as guests and the hearse arrived at the Royal Chapel at Drottningholm Palace.

The Royal Court later released an image of the memorial wreaths at the funeral sent by Birgitta’s siblings (King Carl Gustaf, Princess Margaretha, Princess Desiree and Princess Christina) and their families.

Condolence books were also available at Riddarholm Church and the Royal Palace for people to send their sympathies to the Royal Family.

Princess Birgitta died on 4 December at the age of 87 in Mallorca, Spain.
