King Frederik of Denmark checked in on preparations for a new royal portrait at the artist’s studio.
The King met artist Cathrine Raben Davidsen, who has been working on the portrait for the past two years.
Davidsen shared photos of her work so far in a notebook she shared with King Frederik.
He has visited her studio on several occasions to pose for the painting and to check in on its status.

The portrait will be unveiled by the King in the Hall of Honour at Frederiksborg Castle in connection with the Carlsberg Foundation’s 150th anniversary dinner.
It will hang alongside images of other monarchs from King Christian IX to the reigning monarch.
