King Felipe of Spain released a message following the deadly train crash last night near Cordoba.
The message reads, “We are following with great concern the serious accident between two high-speed trains in Adamuz. We extend our deepest condolences to the family members and loved ones of the deceased, as well as our affection and wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured.”

The crash took place last night around 7.45. A high-speed train derailed and subsequently crashed into another train near Cordoba. Reports from this morning state that at least 39 people were killed. Another 73 were seriously injured and taken to the hospital.
King Felipe is expected to attend the funeral of his aunt, Princess Irene of Greece and Denmark, today in Athens, and it is unclear if plans will be changed.
