The Countess of Wessex was in The Hague in the context of conflict-related sexual violence.

Sophie visited the International Criminal Court in The Hague. There, suspects of war crimes and crimes against humanity are prosecuted. She heard about the Trust Fund for Victims, among other things.

She then attended a meeting of the Initiative Prevention of Sexual Violence in Conflict, which also included Princess Mabel. In the evening, dinner was served with Dutch female entrepreneurs.

On the second day in The Hague, the International Commission on Missing Persons was visited. She visited their state-of-the-art DNA lab that supports their work.

As the last part of the visit, Sophie met Dutch young people who have received their golden Duke of Edinburgh Award.
