The Countess of Wessex was in The Hague in the context of conflict-related sexual violence.
Sophie visited the International Criminal Court in The Hague. There, suspects of war crimes and crimes against humanity are prosecuted. She heard about the Trust Fund for Victims, among other things.

She then attended a meeting of the Initiative Prevention of Sexual Violence in Conflict, which also included Princess Mabel. In the evening, dinner was served with Dutch female entrepreneurs.

Last night HRH The Countess of Wessex met with leading Dutch women in business to hear more about their experiences of being female leaders in the Netherlands.

On the second day in The Hague, the International Commission on Missing Persons was visited. She visited their state-of-the-art DNA lab that supports their work.
The ICMP was set up to address the issue of missing persons, whether as a result of conflict, disaster, or crime.

As the last part of the visit, Sophie met Dutch young people who have received their golden Duke of Edinburgh Award.
HRH presented @DofE awards to 24 young people who made a change to their communities, tested their limits, enhanced their skills, and grew their confidence.
